PROJECTS

I am a cofounder of Product Placement, a blog and series of live events where designers discuss the stories behind the making of their products. While the blog is updated regularly, the offline events happen quarterly. Each of the latter is oriented around a theme and features practitioners from a range of design fields giving five-minute talks about one of their products, touching on its development and inspirations, and then taking audience questions. Participating talents have included 2008 National Design Award winner/Antenna Design cofounder Masamichi Udagawa; interior and industrial designer Harry Allen; sustainability champs Mio Design; Rockwell Group principal and studio leader Barry Richards; textile duo Twenty2; rugmaker Amy Helfand; fashion designer Tom Scott; and Carnegie Fabrics creative director Heather Bush. Retail partners have included Felissimo Design House, Design Within Reach, Designtex, and Nemo Tile.
